Opening Hours

The SCCP is closed on Mondays. If Monday falls on national holiday the SCCP will open, and be closed the next weekday. Office opening hours are from 9:30am to 5:00pm, with a break from noon to 1:00pm.

The main gate of the park is closed at 6:00 PM. Please use the sub-gate for vehicle access after 6:00PM.

The dormitory is available for use through a year. However, due to the winter closure from December 29 to January 3, all residence artists are requested to temporarily vacate the premises during this period.

Unauthorized entry by the general public into the studio and accommodation facilities is prohibited.

 

Response to illness

If you have any chronic illnesses, please inform us in advance. (e.g., if you have an EpiPen).

The Artist is required to purchase a travel insurance that will cover the medical expenses and other accidents. The Artist is responsible for any unexpected accidents, incidents or illness during the residency.

 

Key Management

Artist who use a domitory room will be given a key to your private room upon arrival. You will be charged the actual cost in case you lose the key. If you will be away from the domitory for an extended period of time, please inform the staff of the duration and return the key to the management office.

The sub-gate and the entrance to the accommodation building are equipped with keypad locks.

For management purposes, such as facility inspections or equipment maintenance, staff or contracted personnel may enter individual rooms.

 

Accompanying person

Accommodation facilities are exclusively reserved for SCCP resident artists. We do not permit accommodations for individuals who do not fall under this category. However, we are open to considering arrangements for assistants participating in the residency program. Please notify us when you submit application.

 

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and accommodation facilities at SCCP.

If needed, we introduce a bedding supplier (e.g. 6,600 yen per month)

A set includes mattress pad, mattress sheet, comforter, comforter cover, pillow, pillowcase, and other seasonal items such as blankets.

 

Laundry

There are three washing machines and two dryers in the laundry room. Please keep them clean. To avoid disturbing neighboring residents, please refrain from using the washing machines and dryers between 10 PM and 7 AM. Clothes drying stands and irons are available in the linen room on the first floor. Please be careful not to leave electrical appliances unattended, as this can cause fires.

 

The dining and kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and tableware for self-catering. As this is a shared space for all residents, please keep it clean and tidy after use. Please be considerate of others to avoid placing an undue burden on specific individuals. A thorough cleaning of the dining hall and kitchen will be conducted around the end of each month, and we ask for artist’s cooperation. 

Heating and cooling

Air conditioning is available in those periods;
Cooling : July to September / Heating : November to March

Air conditioning of the studios operates from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  The studio’s air conditioning is not operated on closed days such as Monday.

Due to current energy circumstances, the studio’s air conditioning may be turned off. Additionally, some facilities may be unavailable due to construction-related water outages. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we ask for your cooperation in maintaining the facility.

 

Cleaning

There is no cleaning service for individual rooms, so please take care to clean your own space. Please dispose of trash in the designated trash area.

 

Check-out

Please notify staff in advance of the date and time of your check-out. Please make sure you clean your room before checking out.

All items in the refrigerator must be disposed of, and the refrigerator must be left empty. Staff will inspect the room in the presence of the user. If any damage is found on the walls or furnishings, you may be instructed to restore them to their original condition at your own expense. Upon departure, please return the key and ID card and settle all payments at the management office.

 

Letters and Parcel Delivery

Before Arrival

Please write down your name on shipping label. We don’t accept cash on delivery so please use prepaid shipping.

If sending packages to SCCP, we can receive your parcel from 1 week prior to the date of your arrival. We can only receive them in our business hours. All packages will arrive in front of the administration office.

After arrival

please avoid using cash on delively (COD) when purchasing items from online shops, etc. If COD is unavoidable, please deposit the total amount including handling fees at the office in advance.

When requesting pickup of a package, please bring the package and payment to the office before the pickup time.

 

Telephones and Internet

Except in emergencies, you cannot make external calls from the fixed telephones in the rooms. The dormitory and studios are equipped with Wi-Fi.

 

Copiers

Black-and-white copies are available at 10 yen per sheet, and color copies are available at 40 yen per sheet at the office. Please inform the staff if you wish to use the copier.
