三輪和彦

Kazuhiko Miwa

1951年　三輪和彦は11代三輪休雪（壽雪）の三男として山口県に生まれました。
1975年にアメリカ留学し、サンフランシスコ・アート・インスティテュートで学びました。
1981年に帰国して三輪窯で個展を中心とする制作活動に入りました。
1990年、山口県芸術文化振興奨励賞を受賞しました。
｢白い夢｣を中心とした轆轤を使って土を立ち上げていく作品と、
｢デッド・エンド｣や｢夢想の地｣陶芸の森で制作し、兵庫県陶芸美術館で展示された「黒の遺構」のように素材を限界まで問い詰めた作品に大別されます。
2006年に日本陶磁協会賞を受賞しました。

1951 Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture, the third son of 11th generation Miwa Kyusetsu (Jusetsu)
1975 Went to the United States and studied at San Francisco Art Institute
1981 Returned to Japan and began working at Miwa-gama, exhibiting work in solo exhibitions
1990 Awarded Yamaguchi Prefecture Award for Encouragement of Art and Culture

His work can be divided into two categories: wheel-thrown work such as “White Dream,” and other work that pushes clay to its limits, such as “Dead End,” “Land of Dreams,” and “Black Relic,” created at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park and exhibited at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Ceramic Art.

2006 Awarded the Japan Ceramic Society Prize.
